Kikobot Motion — KH Series

BLDC harmonic actuators

Compact. Precise. Powerful. Powering motion, empowering robots.

Kikobot KH Series harmonic actuator

24–48 V support

Runs on the supply you already have on the machine.

Hollow shaft

Route cabling straight through the joint — no external looms.

Gear ratio customisation

30, 50 or 100 : 1 — or a ratio specified for your load case.

Daisy chain support

Link joints in series and cut your wiring dramatically.

High-speed CAN FD

5 Mbps control loop for tight, responsive motion.

Inside the actuator

Motor, gearbox, encoder and drive in one housing

A KH actuator arrives as a finished joint. Bolt it to the link, run one cable, and the control loop is already closed inside the unit.

01

Frameless BLDC motor

High torque density in a short axial stack.

02

Harmonic reducer

30 / 50 / 100 : 1 ratios, chosen per joint.

03

15-bit multiturn encoder

Absolute position held through a power cycle.

04

Integrated FOC driver

Current loop closed inside the joint, not in a cabinet.

05

CAN-FD interface

5 Mbps daisy chain — one cable down the arm.

Where they are used

Built to be someone else's joint

Cobots

Collaborative arms that need smooth, compliant motion at every joint.

Humanoids

High torque density in a package light enough to carry itself.

Bionic limbs

Quiet, smooth actuation close to the body.

Exoskeletons

Assistive force that tracks the wearer without fighting them.

The range

Four frame sizes

Each size ships in three gear ratios, with or without brake. Pick by the torque your joint needs.

KH-14

The small one. For wrists, grippers and compact joints where space is tight.

6.8 – 14 Nm

Rated torque · 70 Nm peak · ~0.9 kg

KH-17

The workhorse. Mid-size arm joints on cobots and light manipulators.

12 – 51 Nm

Rated torque · 143 Nm peak · ~1.36 kg

KH-20

For elbows and shoulders — where the load starts to bite.

20 – 64 Nm

Rated torque · 191 Nm peak · ~2.03 kg

KH-25

The heavy one. Base joints, hips and legs carrying real mass.

38 – 140 Nm

Rated torque · 369 Nm peak · ~2.75 kg
